A Doggy Themed 4th Birthday Party

I still can't get over the fact that my first "baby" is 4! It's true what they say, time really does fly by but what I will add is each year it gets more and more fun. Eric and I had decided that this year we were going to try to celebrate Owen's birthday this coming summer since his birthday is 3 days before Christmas and it is always super crazy and busy, but like true Owen fashion for the first time he actually asked for a birthday party, told me who I was to invite and was really excited to celebrate with his friends. So not wanting to disappoint my almost 4 year old, I quickly organized a puppy themed party for my dog loving little boy. We invited 2 of his friends from school -- Sam and Josephine, and his best buddy Ashton. He also requested Noah, but with Christmas right around the corner that wasn't plausible and Grammie and Papa, who did make the party :). So nothing crazy but just the right amount of people for an indoor party in our apartment.

I came up with a few easy dog themed activities -- decorating their own dog mask, find the hidden dog bones filled with dog shaped crayons and a hide the puppy game that had all of the little guys in a fit of giggles. Eric picked up some pizzas, meatballs and salad, we sang happy birthday with some homemade cupcakes and each kid got to "adopt a stuffed puppy" as their treat to take home.

Overall I think it was a great success. In fact, the next day Owen requested a soccer birthday for his 5th birthday and has asked me everyday without fail when is his 5th birthday... so I guess you can say he had fun right?
