Summer Phone Picture Dump

Having a phone with a camera has been amazing because you are always ready to get a good picture. Over the summer I have managed to capture some pretty good shots of Owen and Lexi on our many mini adventures. Getting them off my camera takes a little work, but it had to be done so I could share them with you! Enjoy ;)

Vermont Reunion

Owen and I tackled the open road and made our way up to VT for the Hartman family reunion. It was a 6 hour round trip visit which Owen did just okay with. For a very active little boy that doesn't EVER stop running, being tied down in a car seat at 3 hour intervals isn't really something he is good at. He didn't have any major meltdowns, which I was grateful for, but he sure didn't make it to easy on me! Anyways, once we made it to Vermont we had a wonderful visit with many extended family members that I haven't seen in a few years. Owen got to meet lots and lots of new people and for the most part was a very good and happy boy. He loved playing outside, playing soccer with the Park girls and Uncle Ricky, chasing around Grammie and Papa when I needed a little break ;). It was a long drive, but I was glad we made the visit it was a fun day!

19 & 20 Months!

Where has the time gone? I feel like the summer has just started and now it is coming to an end. We still have a couple of busy weeks ahead of us but we are going to try to squeeze in as much water activities we can before the warm weather disappears. Okay, now time for an update on Mr. O

Stats:

Weight: 26.6 pounds (55 %)
Height: 33" (66%)
Head Circumference: 50 cm (94 %)
Shoe Size: 5/6
Eyes: Hazel/Brown depending on the light
Diapers: finishing up our last box of size 4s and moving into size 5
Cloths: 24 months

Milestones:

Loves anything to do with water especially swimming. He will kick in the water with his arm floaties and bubble and move around the pool all by himself ~ a natural water bug

Puzzles have become one of his favorite new obsessions as well as stacking blocks

Has become really good at kicking balls

Discovered how yummy watermelon is -- thank goodness for that!

Has recently started to hit Lexi and thinks it is so funny to watch her scurry away. We are learning how to pet the doggie GENTLY

Speaking of Lexi he also likes to take her leash and walk her himself

Has a new love for all baby dolls. If he sees one he picks it up, gives it a hug and a kiss and then brings it to me. It is so cute

Pretty good at following directions

He is a very independent and stubborn little boy

18 months brought about a whole new level of frustration and whining because he has to learn how to communicate with us to tell us what he wants

He can show us where his head, belly button, toes and eyes are on his body

If you ask him what a cow says he responds with "moooo" ... which is also what sound a horse, goat, pig and every other animal makes too ;)

Still loves to read and have books read to him

Favorite tv shows are Mickey, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Little Einsteins, Doc McStuffins (all Disney Jr shows)

If we would let him he would live outside. He LOVES the outdoors and always brings us all of his treasures that he finds. He especially likes rocks and sticks

He loves slides and can successfully climb up the stairs, sit at the top and slide down all by himself

Water Baby

It is no secrete that Owen LOVES LOVES LOVES all things that have to do with water. Well, he was in for a very special treat when we went to my parents house at the beginning of August and he got to swim in their pool for the first time all summer. Of course I took him in last year, but he just floated around sitting nicely in his float. This year was a whole new experience as he is Mr. Independent and wanted to swim all by himself. He loved the water as soon as I pulled him in and he didn't want to be held at all. He sucked in a lot of water at first and did a few fish flops, but after our 3rd dip in for the day (yes we played outside in and out of the pool for 3 hours) he started to get the hang of swimming all on his own. He can float and kick all by himself and laughs and giggles the whole time he is in the pool. Heck, maybe he will be the next Michael Phelps ;).

Ready to go swimming
So happy
All of this swimming is making me thirsty, let me take a quick drink
 My little fishy
Playing at the water table
 Having so much fun!
The bird bath is also fun

Durning our visit in Westfield we also got to check out the towns new splash park with Gigi (hehe my Grammie). Owen was a little grumpy that morning but perked right up when he got to play in the water! It was the perfect activity for such a hot day.

Ready to check out the splash park
