Show us how you feel

This Sunday while we were all playing Owen was in a super good mood so I broke out my camera to get some pictures. Looking back through them I noticed we captured some very funny faces of our very happy boy :)

So excited playing with balloons
 Sweet boy
 Say What?
Shhh ... is anyone watching? They won't notice if I pull this off to play with it right?

14 Months Old

Our little man is getting bigger everyday and so much fun! This is by far my favorite stage. I am loving being able to watch Owen discover the world around him, find delight in the simplest things, show me just how much fun a remote controller can be, having the independence to go where he wants to go and show me what he wants to play with or eat but always come back to me for some snuggles and love. He is constantly amazing me and making me laugh and I truly am soaking in every single moment.

Milestones:

He will give kisses if you ask him (open mouth slobbery kisses of course:))

Can sign "all done" and "more" but usually uses the "more" sign to let us know he is hungry or thirsty

Has learned how to kick and will kick balls/toys but really loves to kick water in the tub

Speaking on the tub, he will now line up all of his toys on the edge of the tub during tubby time, then of course grabs them and throws them back in, and will start the cycle all over again

One of his favorite foods at the moment is garlic bread

His favorite books at the moment are "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Seuss and "Where's Spot"

Loves to be read to. At any point of the day he will go over to the bookshelf and will grab a book, bring it over to you, sit on your lap and wait to be read to

Can climb in and out of his Owen chair and I will often find him sitting in it with a book that he is "reading"

Loves to swing. He walks all of the way across the park ... probably the length of a football field... to the swing and if you don't follow, he doesn't care, that is what he wants to do and so he will do it

Has 6 teeth all of the way in and has two more bottom teeth poking through and two first molars working their way down -- he has a lot going on in his little mouth :)

Still drinking out of bottles -- but strictly whole milk. I just bought him cups for his milk ... lets see how long it takes to get him to drink milk out of them...

During playtime he will take a break and climb up on his stool so he can look out the window. He loves looking outside

He gets excited whenever it is time to go for a walk outside

Likes to push things around ... kitchen chairs, his red wagon, ball popper mower

When we are in the kitchen he is constantly trying to dig into the bread drawer to get the bread and chew on it threw the package ... weird child

Wears size 12-18 month cloths and size 18 month pjs

Playgroups

Owen and I usually attend two different playgroups a week as something fun to do. We have been attending one of the groups since Owen was just about 7 months old. At this playgroup, the moms take turns hosting the weekly playgroup and this week was our turn. Luckily, Eric was home so he could keep Lexi out of the house while the other little kids came to play. Although we didn't get any pictures of the kids playing, I did get a couple of cute ones of Owen while we were setting up for the playgroup.

Getting the living room all set-up
 Handsom boy
 Ready to play
 Being a ham
 Love the sun
 Ready for friends

The other playgroup that Owen and I go to is a class that meets once a week for 12 weeks. We did a class like this when he was 9 months old and liked it so much we decided to sign up for another one. I think these classes have really helped Owen with socialization, hitting milestones and getting use to a routine. It is truly amazing how much babies/toddlers learn from each other and it seems like every time we leave a class I am always amazed at what Owen learned or did. This is the class where he feel in love with the parachute and BUBBLES. At the end of each class the instructor has the babies in a circle, we sing goodbye and she blows bubbles. Owen loves this part of class and as soon as the bubbles start floating in the air, he runs around and tries to catch/pop each one. It may be the cutest thing ever.

What's hiding in here?

We have so much fun at our playgroups!

Some of Owen's Favorite Things

Now that Owen is walking up a storm, he is really showing us his fun personality. He loves to run from one room to the next, read books and have books read to him, discover all things that are not meant for babies his age, go to the park and swing on the swing set, play with friends and of course have snuggle time with mom, dad and occasionally Lexi.

Lucky for you, I have been able to catch him playing with some of his favorite things.

Playing with his parachute that he got from for Valentine's Day. To say he LOVES this would be an understatement. As soon as you take it out, he grins and squeals with delight and wants you to make it go up and down while he stands under it.
Making forts and playing in them
His sippy cup! He loves to drink out of the straw
Although it is hard to see, he loves his ball popper push toy (I just really liked this picture of Lexi and Owen)
Reading books in his Owen chair
Feeding Lexi all of the food he is suppose to be eating
 Cookies!!
 Watching Mickey
Swinging at the park. As soon as we get to the park with Lexi he climbs out of his little red car and will walk all of the way across the park to the swings. He would be on the swings for hours if we let him.
Mom, less picture taking and more pushing

Happy Valentine's Day

Owen and Lexi wanted to wish everyone a very special happy valentine's day! We had a very nice day. Owen let Lexi and I sleep in until 7:30 (woke up at 6 for a bottle ... I guess that is sleeping through the night with an extra bonus). We played all morning ... Owen had a great 2 hour nap ... we went to the park so Lexi could play with her friends ... Daddy came home and surprised us with some special gifts ... we made dinner toasted with some champagne ... had a fun in the tub and now Owen is talking away in his crib instead of sleeping ... perhaps he is just serenading us. We hope you all had a nice day too. Sending you lots of hugs, kisses and love.

Good Morning
 Anyone out there?
Of course I will be your Valentine Mom
