Who Needs Toys?

Some of Owen's favorite things to play with are of course, not his fancy toys, but everyday household objects and ANY type of dog toy. Some of his favorites are the tv remote, any type of plastic kitchen utensil, sandwich baggies, magazines (he loves to rip these apart!), boxes, Lexi's leash, and like I said, any dog toy. Sometimes I wonder if I would be better off just buying the kids dog toys to share ... I wonder what the local mom's would say about that? They would probably be horrified that I let my dog and baby chew on the same ball ... sometimes, it is just not worth the fight to take it away! Oh the life of Lexi and Owen :)

Now for some cute recent pictures:
Having fun in the box
Such a ham
Hmm... think mom will ship me to Grammie's if I can figure out how to close this up?
Mom, you aren't suppose to find me ... I am trying to cause some trouble!
Can you find Owen?
Hi Mom!
Trying to take all of the books off of the book shelve
Crabby Butt
Look at me Mom! I LOVE to climb on EVERYTHING!
And chew on whatever I can get my mouth on (ps look at him on his tippy toes ... can't get much cuter then that!)

 Learning to share of course!

How do Lexi and Owen get along?

This is probably one of the most asked questions that we get since Owen was born. So I will let you atch this video and you can decide ;)

9 Month's Old

9 months old and is mobile! This past month has marked many new milestones for Owen, but the biggest has had to be his mobility! He sure is keeping us on our toes, as we cannot let him out of our site for even a  second anymore. He loves to get into as much trouble as he can and see just how far he can "push the envelope" as some may say. I still cannot get over the fact that he is already 9 months old ... time sure is flying but he sure is fun to get to spend everyday with! We love you Owen with all of our hearts.

Owen's Stats:

Weight: 20 lbs 2 oz (43 percentile)
Height: 28 1/2 inches (60%)
Head Circumference: 47 cm (90%)
Diapers: Size 3
Cloths: 9 month (he seemed to slow down in the weight department probably because of all his moving and grooving!)
Eyes: Slowly turning brown but still have a very pretty blue ring around the outer edges of his eye

What Owen has been up to:

He has mastered crawling and can even run crawl when he really wants to get something .... especially Lexi's kongs which he knows he is not suppose to have

He pulls himself up on EVERYTHING

While he is upright he can also cruse from one thing to the next ... so he can go from one end of the coffee table to the next all while walking

He can also walk while holding onto some of his toys that roll along with him -- its so cute!

He loves to say da-da and says it whenever you prompt him to say anything. For example I can say "Say mama" his response "da-da" ... Doggie "da-da" ... Bottle "da-da"

Has moved onto having real tubbies in the bath-tub ... no more baby tub

He eats breakfast, lunch and dinner and we try to have him eat some snacks too.

We try to have him try little bites of everything we eat and so far he is a fan of food and has grown out of his gage reflux for the most part. Thank goodness :)

This past month also marked the beginning of separation anxiety and let me tell you I will be happy when this stage passes. He is alright with other people if I am not in sight but as soon as he sees me ... he has to come to me otherwise it is meltdown city. This has not been a fun milestone to say the least.

He had his first cold this month with a runny nose and fussiness, but pulled through it like a champ

He has gotten his two bottom teeth! No more gummy smile -- he really is growing up :(

Plays peekaboo :)

Will come when I call him and fallows me everywhere just like a little puppy dog

Loves to play will balls ... he rolls them, throws them and can kick them. He also loves to bang on anything or bang toys together, basically loves to make as much noise as he can.

When I say no he does understand ... does he always listen to me ... well that's another story ;)

Some things he loves: his fisher price house, stackable rings, vetch walking toy, going for walks, playing outside, swinging, doggies, eating in his high chair, playing in his crib, talking baby talk, looking in the mirror and saying hi to the baby

Overall he is a very happy healthy little boy that loves to play, giggle and follow Lexi around whenever she lets him. Happy 9 months baby boy!

Apple Picking

On Sunday, we tried to go apple picking with Owen for the first time. We were all excited to go and of course our little man decided he wasn't going to take his morning nap ... which meant we had to alter our plans a little. Instead of going to the apple farm we were planning on going to (it's 40 min away) we opted to try a closer farm so that little O wouldn't fall asleep in the car and call that his nap for the day... well the farm we ended up at was more like a local farmers market ... with the apples already picked for you. On the upside there were some chickens that Owen got to see and a crazy Llama named Bell who just happened to be out of her pen during our visit. Everyone claimed that she was friendly, and for the most part she was until she decided she had enough of being friendly and spit at Owen and I. At least we both survived. So our first attempt at apple picking was a fail but at least we have a good story to go with it :). Here's to our next adventure!

Ready for some Apple Picking
Owen's "Look Mom, I'm not tired look" -- who needs morning naps anyway!

Endicott Love

Eeekkkk! Now that Owen is crawling and pulling up on everything I don't have a free moment to do much of anything. I always treasured nap time, but now it is essential in order for me to stay sane and connect with the outside world.

Anyways, this past weekend Eric and I were lucky enough to celebrate the marriage of our good friends George and Sam at our old stomping ground -- Endicott College. It brought back so many good memories of our college days -- back when life was simple and the most complex decision we had to make was where we were going to go out that night. Oh the life of being a college student :). Well, life might not be that simple anymore but it sure is nice to get together with old friends and celebrate two wonderful people!

The wedding was beautiful and magical with an old vintage feel to it. Sam did such a wonderful job with all of the little details! On top of that, it was a beautiful day, a little chilly but not a rain drop in site, plus we were surrounded by great people!

Such a cool idea (it matched perfectly with the invitation)

Football is BACK!

The football season kicked off again this past weekend and this year I had two very excited boys ready to soak it all in all day long! Pour Giants didn't get their first W this past weekend ... hopefully we will get it on Monday Night ;).

And since Owen has just recently started to have separation anxiety (talk about NOT FUN) ... I had to hide behind the door to capture these precious moments between Eric and O ... and yes they were taken through the crack of the door between the hinges. Hopefully this stage ends sooner rather then later!

I love them with all of my heart! .. oh and this little puppy too :)
