Quack Quack

It's been a very busy end of the summer and I still have some posts about our adventures that I would like to post but captured this video last night and it was too cute to wait until I was all caught up.

Recently we have been starting to see the great benefits of Owen's weekly early intervention visits. He has started to point to any object and ask "What is this," can successfully say car, tell us what a train does (even pulling on an imaginary cord like what a train conductor would do), quacking like a duck, mooing like a cow, clucking like a chicken and can say ma, but hasn't said mama just yet, but he almost has it.

Well last night I captured him quacking like a duck and telling me what a train does as well as identifying some of his body parts while we did tubby time. He is such a little ham.

Preppy and Chic

Warning: Picture Overload
Our summer of weddings continued back in August when I was honored to be apart of one of my closest friends special day. On August 18th, Kara married her sole mate Luke (also from Westfield) in an intimate church ceremony in front of their family and friends.

The morning of the wedding proved to be surprisingly relaxing with the bride, bridesmaids, mothers and flower girls getting beautified for the big day while the groom, groomsmen and ring bearer played lazar tag. We all gathered in Kara's suite where we got our hair and make-up done and enjoyed each others company while keeping Kara as calm as we could as it poured buckets of rain outside. The weather man assured us that it would clear for the afternoon so we all kept our fingers and toes crossed that they were right this one time. And sure enough as soon as we stepped off of the trolley at the church, the skies started to clear and the sun was ready to come and shine on this very special day.

Now, the next three pictures are the best and a moment I will remember forever. This was her reaction while opening up her gift from Luke - a diamond bracelet - Yes Kar, its real and he is a keeper ;)

The ceremony was the traditional catholic ceremony and Kara looked just radiant the whole time and Luke could tell he was the luckiest man in the room. He looked dashingly handsome in his tux and ready to take Kara as his wife. Once they sealed their love with a kiss, the church doors were opened and what did we see peek through ... the sun!

After the ceremony the wedding party loaded into the trolley and we were off to the beach for some pictures. With the girls in navy, Kara in off white, the boys in black tuxes with skinny black ties, and the cutest flower girls in white we all looked preppy, elegant and chic in a very nautical way with the beach as our background ... just like you see in magazines and movies, it really didn't get any better at that moment.

After pictures, it was off to get the party started at the Guilford Yacht Club, located right on the water with picture perfect views and continued with the preppy nautical theme. Kara did great with all of her little details making the venue match her vision perfectly. The food was amazing and the dj was great, making for a very fun wedding. And you know it was an awesome wedding when after the dj played the last song everyone on the packed dance floor started chanting "One More Song, One More Song" in unison. The dj looked dumbfounded but the guests were not backing down. Shortly the dj called out the catering manager asked if one more song could be played and she said YES! the crowed went crazy, Kara, Luke and the dj had a strategy huddle to pick just the right song and Call Me Maybe started and the crowed belted it out singing at the top of their lungs ... it was EPIC!

Overall it was such a preppy, chic, elegant and sophisticated day that went flawlessly. Kara looked stunning and both her and Luke looked like they were on cloud nine all day. It was so special to be apart of their day and to be apart of all of the little moments that happened as they created their happily ever after. I am so happy to call them both my friends and will always remember how awesome their wedding was.
