2 Months Old!

We can't believe he is already 2 months old, time is flying by! Everyday he gets more and more active and shows us more of his personality. He now recognizes us when we are in the room and gives us big smiles when he makes eye contact with us. They melt your heart every time. He still loves to be held and cuddled with, especially when he naps, but we are slowly having him use his crib more and more. He was a champ at his 2 month doctors appointment today despite having to get two shots (one in each leg:(). It sure did break my heart to hear him scream and cry, but he calmed down after a minute or two so that was good. He really is a good baby and such a little chunky monkey we just love him so much!

Now for Owens Stats:

Weight: 13 lbs 3.5 oz
Height: 23.5 inches
Head Circumference: 41 cm
Still has dark blue eyes but they could change at anytime
Wears size 2 diapers and 3 month cloths

What he has been up to:

He loves to move to music and loves to be sung to

He has started to give big gummy smiles -- melts our hearts because they are sooo cute!

His little coos are really precious and loves to "talk" to us whenever he is on his playmat or in his bouncy chair

Speaking of his playmat, he still loves it! He loves the lights and kicks like crazy to the music -- he is training to be an all-star athlete :)

He has started to grab onto things whether it is your shirt when you are holding him, a toy if you place it in his hand or a snugly stuffed animal to calm him down

He has always had great head control but can now lift his head at a 45 degree angle when doing tummy time and when he feels like it will push up a little with his hands -- that is only on a really good day

He still doesn't have much of a schedule ... we are working on getting some longer stretches of sleep at night but everyday he seems to do something different ... that's babies for you though!

Has just recently discovered Mickey's Club House and LOVES Mickey and the gang -- it is so funny to watch him as they are on the tv

Here are some more pictures from today:

A Very Special Valentine's Weekend

This past weekend we celebrated Valentine's Day a little early. My parents graciously agreed to come up on Saturday night so that Eric and I could have our first date night since Owen was born. Nether of us thought that we would be able to have a date night for a long time, so being able to get dressed up and spend some time together was something that we definitely cherished. As we made our way to our favorite restaurant, Not Your Average Joes, Owen got to spend some time with his Grammie and Papa! We heard that he had a great time and didn't fuss one little bit (which is very surprising, since he always seems to get fussy at night). I think he just wanted to make sure that they would come back to babysit him again :).

For Owen's first Valentine's day he got a very special pop-up edition of The Very Hungry Catepiler and loves it! It is amazing how captivated he gets when you read to him and having the pictures pop off the page made reading even more fun! He also got a couple new outfits and some new bibs -- he sure is one lucky little boy!!

On top of having a great night we also found out that our very close friends Kara and Luke got engaged and we are so happy for them, they are such an amazing couple!

It was such a special Valentine's Day Weekend for all of us!

Winter of the Snow Storms

Since Owen has been born I think we have been hit with a major snow storm every week! According to our local news station we have already been hit with 67 inches of snow, which is just crazy. You should see the snowbanks around here ... they are as tall as me which makes driving around here extra scary. Plus, they have really run out of places to put the snow so many of the two lane roads are down to one lane ... can we say that's an accident ready to happen?

Normally I don't mind the snow but with a major storm hitting us every week for the past 6 weeks, it gets pretty exhausting. Add to that a hurt puppy who would LOVE to run around in the snow but can't and doesn't understand why and the inability to go for walks because many people don't shovel their sidewalks ... it is making it a VERY long winter.

Luckily, this past weekend it warmed up enough to get some pictures of the kids in the snow :)

Lexi is so excited to have a buddy to play with!

Superbowl!

Although our Giant's aren't in the superbowl this year Owen still wanted to wear his teams attire! He is ready to watch the big game ... snack on some yummy food (or at least admire it from afar) ... and take notes on how to become the next e-trade baby! He also wants Eli to start training now so that he can actually cheer for HIS team next year!

Owen's First Road Trip

On Saturday we packed the car and traveled to Auntie Molly and Uncle Mike's house for Owen's first road trip! We made a quick stop in Westfield so Lexi could stay with my mom and Kenzie (she had sooooo much fun and was equally as excited to be able to get out of the house and bend the rules a little at Grammie's house :)) while we continued our adventure to Albany.

We had such a wonderful afternoon and Owen loved meeting his Auntie Molly and Uncle Mike for the first time. On top of that, he also got to spend some time with Auntie Lizzie and some of her roommates from college (Owen is already a ladies man ... he loved getting so much attention from the college girls :)) and his Grammie and Grandpa! We had so much fun catching up and Owen was such a good boy! He didn't fuss at all -- I think he had a little cabin fever too.

Auntie Lizzie wanted to join in the fun too!

We were able to spend the whole afternoon in Albany and then made our way to Westfield so little Owen could meet his Uncle Danny, Uncle Ricky and his Great Grammie for the first time. And although he was a little fussy -- hey he is only 5 weeks old, can't ask too much of him -- he was a trooper and can't wait until he sees them again.
