Easter

We spent Easter at my parents house and had a wonderful day. When Owen woke up and walked into the family room he was welcomed with gifts from the Easter Bunny and Grammie and Papa. He was so excited and couldn't wait to see what he got :). He jumped right into his basket and found gardening tools, eggs filled with goodies, fancy new outfits to keep my preppy little boy right on trend in the toddler world, new stuffed animal to keep him company and some other favorites that kept him entertained all day. As I am sure you saw from the previous post, he had a blast hunting for eggs and spent a majority of the sunny day outside running around.

He also got to color eggs for the very first time and actually LOVED it. He started off dipping the eggs with the help of a whisk (thank you pinterest) but after seeing Uncle Ricky dip the eggs with the egg dipper that became the new way to do it. He actually did really well and was nice and gentle not breaking one egg. He didn't go for vibrant eggs sticking more to the pastel colors and quickly dipped the eggs in each color making very pretty eggs only a toddler could create. It was pretty awesome watching him color eggs for the first time.

Also, one of my favorite parts of the day was right actually right before we got back on the road and headed for home. My brothers, parents and I were all hanging out playing trains with Owen and there was just a calm serenity to the whole activity that I loved. There hasn't been too many times where its just been my two brothers and I in the same place and it reminded me of our family Sunday nights growing up. It was the perfect way to end a great day with family!
