A Hunting We Will Go

With Owen at the age of 2, things are so much fun -- especially holiday activities. This year we got to experience Easter Egg Hunts for the first time and Owen LOVED them. He had so much fun finding the eggs and collecting them in his basket. He really didn't care if there was anything in them but he did want me to re-hide them over and over by asking -- "more Easter Bunny?" --- so cute!

So our first egg hunt happened this past Saturday and was put on by the Belmont Moms group. They had a designated toddler area which I thought was great since sometimes older kids can get a little competitive. Owen was amazed with all of the eggs and had so much fun collecting them. It was super cute to watch him find the eggs and point at the ones he chose to collect. He would proudly announce "green egg"(or whatever the color of the egg was) and point to it and wait for Eric and I to say "ok go get it" and the biggest smile would spread across his face as he ran for the egg. All of the eggs had stickers in them which Owen also found very exciting.

There was an Easter Bunny at the egg hunt and Owen was intrigued with him. He wouldn't get more then 2 feet to him, but he loved watching him interact with all of the other kids. When I asked him if he wanted to go to another area of the days festivities he would tell me "No Mommy, more Bunny" so we ended up hanging out with the bunny for a good 5 minutes but if I asked him if he wanted to give him a hug or go stand next to him he would just squeal and say "NOOOO"

Easter morning I also set out a handful of eggs in my parents backyard and filled them with coins. Owen was so excited to see more eggs having just done an egg hunt the day before and had so much fun running around and collecting them. He had me set them up at least 5 times during the day. I am pretty sure he thinks the Easter Bunny is one very cool dude.
