Today (September 9, 2015) was Owen's first day of pre-k and he did awesome! Leading up to the first day of school he was hot and cold on whether he was excited to start school again. His biggest hesitation was the fact that if he went back to school it would mean no more splash parks, but after I explained the splash parks close when school starts (except when we have a heat wave which of course happened this year) he was ready to trot off to school.
In true Owen fashion, he picked out his first day of school outfit -- notice the orange shirt, packed his backpack with his paw patrol buddies Chase and Everest and was ready for school. He requested that his whole family come drop him off including sunshine and daddy, which everyone was happy to follow. He posed quickly in front of the chalkboard to appease mommy and jumped right into the car. When we pulled up to school, he unbuckled himself, threw his backpack on his back and ran to the front door. We quickly found his new cubby and he sat right down at one of the tables to do an activity. I asked him if it was ok if we left and just like that he gave everyone big hugs and we left. Our little man is so grown up and we are so proud of him!
When I picked him up from school he came running out, gave me a huge hug and started telling me all about his first day. I asked him if he had fun on his first day and he said "Yes, actually I had a GREAT day." And that right there, made this mommy very happy indeed. Happy first day of Pre-K little man we love you!!
