Pumpkin Carving

The week before Halloween we decided it was time to carve our freshly picked pumpkins! But before we turned our pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns we (okay, I) decided to torture Addie just a little bit and put her in a pumpkin, because you are only little for so long and as Owen kindly modeled below, we grow-up too fast to ever fit into a pumpkin again. A little pumpkin guts never hurt anyone right, sorry baby Adds ;).

My super helpers
So not happy about being in the pumpkin
Okay, if I must sit in this gooey pumpkin, at least I have something to play with

And here is the shot that made it all worth it
Big Boy Owen didn't want to be left out so he got a turn in the pumpkin
A few days after turning Addie into a pumpkin, much to Owen's delight, we carved our pumpkin patch pumpkins. We gathered our supplies, de-seeded the pumpkins, and quickly got to work. Owen free styled his face with a marker and with a little help carved out his design. He had so much fun he actually ended up putting a face on both the front and back because why not right? Eric and I also got in on the fun making it a fun family night!

Scooping out the guts is serious work
 But also fun
After sitting in a pumpkin she just hung out this time

 All done!
 Spooky
Nice little face created by Owen!
Mommy's tinker bell for Sunshine (Addie), Owen's face and Daddy's NY Giants pumpkin all ready for Halloween
