Halloween Paw Patrol Style

Every year Halloween gets more and more exciting because Owen get's more and more into it. This year he chose to be the character Ryder from his current favorite show on Nick Jr called Paw Patrol. For anyone that does not know the show here is a quick little summery thanks to wikipedia:

"Paw Patrol is a computer-generated, action-adventure preschool series starring a pack of six celebrity puppies: Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble and Skye, who are led by a tech-savvy 10-year-old boy named Ryder. With a unique blend of problem-solving skills, cool vehicles and lots of cute doggy humor, the Paw Patrol works together on high-stakes rescue missions to protect the Adventure Bay community"

As I'm sure you can tell, the show is very cute and ropes little adventurous, dog loving preschoolers right into its madness ;). To pull off his costume, we called in Grammie for her super sewing skills who created an awesome replica of the vest Ryder wears. We picked up a pair of navy cargo pants, white thermal shirt, spiked up his hair and ta-da he was Ryder!

What Ryder looks like and Owen all dressed up -- with Chase of course!

For little miss Addie we decided to reuse Owen's first costume - a dalmatian puppy - which dueled as one of the Paw Patrol Pups - Marshall the fire dog. She was a good little trooper and even kept the hood on the whole time and it kept her nice and warm on the chilly night.

To say Owen was excited for Halloween would be an understatement. He kept telling me in order to get a treat he had to do a trick. I asked him what trick he was going to do and he said "this one mommy" while bending down to the ground and kicking his legs up in the air.

So the morning was busy with preschool madness. The kids dressed up in their halloween shirts and Addie and I dropped Owen off for his preschool party. His school doesn't have the kids dress-up but they have a little party which Owen told me was lots of fun.

Owen made sure Lexi wasn't left out, he made her a ghost necklace

After school Owen patiently -- and asked me about every 15 minutes -- for trick-or-treating. Around 3 I said it was time and we all got dressed! As our annual tradition we met-up with the Nill's to trick-or-treat around our town's center. It was filled with hundred's of little kids all dressed up looking mighty cute getting candy at every store. All of the boys had a blast and we were so excited to meet up with Ashton and Alex!
Let's go Addie!

Guess some pups just can't hang ;)

After Cushing Square we went home for some pizza then we all got bundled up and went out for some neighborhood trick-or-treating. Owen LOVED it. In fact as we were walking down the street he held my hand looked up at me and said "I'm one lucky boy Mommy." Yes, Owen, yes you are. We stayed out for about an hour at which point Addie was done and wanted to go to bed. Owen told me he wanted to stay out, not for tricks, but for more treating ... silly, cleaver little boy. So Eric and Owen did a few more houses and called it a night. He filled his blue pumpkin to the top picking out a record number of 17 packages of M&M's and only taking one piece of candy at each door. He was so excited though that he often needed to be reminded to say Trick-or-treat and thank you at each house, but he always said it so that counts for something right?

All bundled up and ready to go
My little Ryder -- love him

Since Halloween he asks me daily if Halloween is today and when I say no it's not for another year he asks why, so clearly he is ready to do it all again ;).
