Easter

It's funny, the only two holidays that we have missed have been Christmas in 2010 when Owen was born (we came home from the hospital with him on the 24th) and this Easter as Adelyn was only 10 days old and traveling with a newborn, dog and toddler was just too overwhelming for me. So moral of the story, I have holiday babies and I'm okay with that!

Easter weekend we stayed busy by going on two different Easter Egg Hunts. The first one was on Friday in Arlington where the organizers just scattered candy around a baseball diamond. Owen still thought it was awesome and had so much fun finding the candy in the grass and quickly collected a small pile of candy. He also was excited to see the Easter Bunny, which he went up and gave a high five to.

He had a great time even though he is not a fan of chocolate -- good thing mommy and daddy like it ;)

The next day we went to the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Belmont. This one had plastic eggs scattered all around the playground. This one was also slightly more organized as each child was suggested to collect only 10 eggs so that everyone would get some and as you can imagine, collecting 10 eggs when you are three happens very quickly. Luckily, Owen finds lots of excitement in opening the eggs so once he collected his stash, we found a good spot to see what was inside all of his eggs. This year they were filled with tootsie rolls (last year they had stickers which was a bigger hit). After the eggs, we found the Easter Bunny to give him a hug and get out some energy dancing to some music.

The fun continued on Easter morning when Owen woke up and had his very own Easter Egg Hunt inside our house. It was actually a little challenging because the "cleaning fairy" seems to have missed our house since Addie was born so the eggs blended into the mess. Oh well!

The Easter Bunny came!

And because egg hunting only happens one weekend a year, we also hid eggs outside too. Once Owen and Addie were dressed we hopped outside and hunted for all of the eggs!

Such a good little egg hunter

 Success!

Even though Addie slept through it, we still think our own little bunny had a fun first Easter.
