Father's Day

Father's day was a bittersweet day. It was Owen and Eric's second father's day together, but Eric had to leave for a 2 week training down in Texas for work at noon. Originally he was suppose to fly out at 8 in the morning, but at midnight the night before managed to change his flight time so we could spend a little extra time together.

We tried to make the most of it and hung out in the morning, let Eric sleep in while I tended to the kids and then went over to the park to play! We played until the very last minute and then had to leave to drop off Eric at the airport. Owen knew what was going on an whined when it was time to say goodbye to his Daddy. We waved goodbye and watched him enter the revolving doors and then it was time to head home... just the two of us and Lexi.

No Daddy please don't go
How can you leave this cute face
Hmm... I think I could fit in there
 Please Daddy?
 Owen and Daddy
 Goodbye kisses
 We will miss you

Over the past weeks, we have all missed Eric, but you can really tell how much Owen misses his Daddy. He has given me a run for my money and tested my patients to a level I didn't know existed. Owen has missed playing with his Daddy, getting pushed on the swings, reading in his lap, giggling like crazy as he gets thrown into the air, running away smiling waiting to be chased, and of course snuggling when mommy is away at work and they get to have special boy time.

Er, you are a wonderful father to both Owen and Lexi and we love you very much! Happy belated fathers day. We sure are happy you are back!!!

And a special shot-out to my dad, father-in-law, Papa and Papa Paul. We love you very much! Sending you all hugs and kisses from Boston.
