Tis the Season

Wrapping presents, Christmas parties and snow ... what a weekend! So on Saturday I spent most of the day working in Santa's workshop wrapping up all of our presents before we leave for the holidays on Tuesday night. It was a lot of work, but I must say it feels great to have everything wrapped and I love that it looks like Santa has come to town!

After being a little elf all day, Eric and I traveled to Grafton MA for a wonderful Christmas party at our friends, Mike and Jen's house. It was so much fun to see everyone, catch-up with our friends, eat very yummy food and be able to relax before the holiday madness. I think the highlight had to been the yankee swap. There were some really great gifts and there really wasn't one gift that you would have been disappointed to take home. We ended up with the game gestures and a bottle of captains and a litter of coke-a-cola -- now that could make for a fun night in the future :). Unfortunately we couldn't stay over because we had to get home for Lexi and as we were getting ready to hit the road we noticed that the nor'easter had arrived and we need to get going. It was probably one of the toughest drives that I have had to do in a long time. The roads, including the mass pike were not plowed, sanded or salted, it was extremely bad visibility and we didn't go above 35 miles an hour which turned a 45 minute drive into an hour and a half drive. But by 1:45 am we made it home safe and sound, let Lexi out who was beyond thrilled that there was snow on the ground and went to bed. In the end we were so glad that we went and couldn't have been happier to be invited. We can't wait for next years party!

We woke up this morning to a foot of snow and even as I type this at 2pm, the snow is still falling. Lexi has been having a great time playing and licking the snow. In fact when Eric took her to the park this morning he had to drag her home because her little whiskers were all icy and he decided she needed to defrost a little bit before they went back outside.
