8 Months Old

8 months old and Addie is on the move! The past month Addie has been working on crawling and its been fun watching her master it. She started off pretty much just rolling everywhere. From there it turned into the inchworm method -- she would push herself on her arms, make her legs straight as a bored (think downward facing dog position) and then fall forward usually using her face to catch herself. Once she got a little better at her coordination, she learned to move her arms one or two times then collaps onto her belly. Now she gets into the crawling position will go about two or three "steps" and then go into the sitting position like she is resting or re-examining her surroundings to look for the next object to go after and put into her mouth. I will say she is a determined little girl and if she wants something, she will find a way to get it even it is a combination of rolling, stretching, crawling and sitting!

Stats:

Weight & Height: No update this month, but still has lots of "love" rolls
Eyes: Bluish grey - starting to turn but I have no idea what color they will end up. They are pretty though
Diapers: Size 4
Cloths: Size 12 months or size 12-18 months

Milestones:

Crawling. This determined little girl is on the move. She goes about 5 or six crawls before reverting to sitting, laying on her belly or rolling but she is officially mobile

Her favorite after dinner activity has to be bouncing in her Einstein bouncer. She loves to bounce

No teeth yet, still love that cute gummy smile

Eats three "meals" a day consisting of oatmeal and a fruit puree in the morning, a fruit or veggie at lunch time and oatmeal and a veggie at dinner

She loves to play with her tongue. She will stick it out, babble with it and finds that it works as a pretty amusing toy

Has moved into the big kid tub -- no more baby tub! She loves to splash around the water, reach and grab for toys and finds it particularly fun when she gets to have tubbies with her big brother

Met Santa for the very first time and actually didn't cry. She was actually memorized by him and his beard

Takes two naps a day generally from 9:30-11 and 2-4:00 ish (Give or take)

She is officially Owens roommate and now sleeps in her crib in Owen's room. It hasn't been perfect and they do wake each other up a lot and move around a lot but for now it works. She still wakes up 2 or 3 times a night to nurse

Puts everything and anything in her mouth. Favorites have to be cell phones, keys, kongs and any kind of paper...

When she is crying/yelling it always sounds like "maaaaaaaaaaa"

One of her favorite places to hang out has to be strapped to us in her baby bjorn. She could hang out like that for hours. She loves to look all around and take everything in - my back and shoulders on the other hand, not so much :)

She isn't as attached to binkies as her brother, but she does like them when she is tired. If she can't find one sometimes I catch her sucking on her thumb or two fingers
