We have some exciting news to announce, Adelyn Elizabeth finally arrived on Thursday, April 10th at 1:14 am. She weighed in at 8 lbs 1.3 oz and was 21 inches long. She came out with a full head of dark brown hair and is just perfect from head to toe and we are all so in love with her.

She was very comfy being an inside baby. At 8 days overdue, I think we were all ready to meet our little girl and lucky for us, on Wednesday, April 9th I got a call from the hospital asking if I would like to come in to be induced. Nervous but also excited I gladly said yes, asked my mom if she could come watch Owen and had Eric leave work. Finally we were going to meet this little peanut.
This painting was above my bed in the labor and delivery room. When I saw it I immediately thought of my Grammy Becky and knew she was watching over me because she had a painting by this same artist with three little girls holding hands on a beach and I adored it every time I saw it. I was lucky enough to inherit her picture and it now hangs in our dinning room.
Baby Addie

We arrived at the hospital around 3:30 in the afternoon which was kind of surreal as Eric and I walked in the doors casually, me pain free, which was much different then with Owen. We got checked in, the nurse and doctor chatted with us and they gave me a pill to see if they could kick start labor. I really didn't want pitocin so I was hoping this pill was all I was going to need and luckily it was. We ordered dinner, walked around and at around 9 pm that night consistent contractions started. They were about 2 minutes apart and lasted about 40 sec. At 11 I was begging for an epideral and fearing that I was running out of time to get one as it felt like things were progressing quickly -- the pain is something you do forget but holy wow it's unreal. The nurse came in hooked me up to an Iv and finally at about 11:30 they oked the epideral and the team headed in around 11:50 to put it in. At 12:20 the epideral was in and no more then 5 minutes later my water broke. After that it took about 15 minutes and it was time to get ready to push. Now it takes 10 minutes to get the very first dose of the epideral to kick in and the way it was placed I still had a few spots it wasn't working at all but I was glad that I had it even if it was only taking away about 50 % of the pain - at least it was something. I pushed three times felt everything which was very different then with Owen which I felt nothing and out she came! Overall it was a fairly quick delivery once everything got rolling (painful too) but we ended up getting a perfect little peanut she just needed a little push.
