Thanksgiving Part 1

Owen celebrated his first Thanksgiving at not one, but both of his grandparents houses! He was a trooper during both of the car rides (although we timed them so that he was sleeping for most of it - thank goodness) even though the car is probably his least favorite place to be especially since he would much rather be exploring ... crawling ... cruising ... or anything else that involves NOT being tied down to one place.

We started the Thanksgiving festivities at my parents house. Owen had a great time crawling in every room but I think one of his favorite new discoveries was climbing the stairs. Once he saw them, it was hard to stop this very determined little boy so he got to practice going up the stairs and learning you can't just turn and try to sit down to take a break or you will fall... don't worry their was always an adult standing right behind him to make sure this didn't happen.

Another fun thing we did was venture out to the mall to try to see santa. I say try because when we got to Santa's house he wasn't there ... apparently he only works on the weekends at the Holyoke Mall. We were disappointed but sneaked Owen into Santa's house to grab a few pictures and "practice" for when he would finally get to meet the big man.

And finally, Owen got his first taste of turkey and all of the fixings on Thanksgiving. My mom, grammie and auntie did a fantastic job cooking. Everything was soooo yummy!!! It was so nice to be around family and show Owen that is what Thanksgiving is all about. We stuffed our bellies to the brim and packed up the car because when 4:30 am rolled by it was time to pack up Owen and head out to celebrate Thanksgiving #2 in Rochester (which will be brought to you in the next post)!
