11 Months Old

I have an 11 month old? Now that's just crazy talk!! Although, Owen has already shown us that he is not a baby anymore ... so sad. Over the weekend Owen decided he was giving up his morning nap and all baby food. Just when you start to get in a groove and feel like you have things under control, Owen throws a wrench in the whole plan ... just to keep us on our toes I am sure. So we are starting the adventure of lots and lots of finger foods just as our baby turns 11 months old.

Owen's Stats:

Weight: 21 lbs 9 oz
Height: we will find out next month
Diapers: Size 3 for daytime and size 4 for nighttime
Cloths: 12 month
Eyes: Looking more and more hazel/brown although in the right light they still have hints of blue

Milestone's:

Owen loves to play with any type of balls. He will throw them, roll them, bat at them and of course pick them up when ever they are within reach

Loves to read books especially board books. He will grab them, sit down, flip through the pages while "reading" out load to himself. It is so cute

He will stand alone without holding onto anything for a good 30 sec - a minute

Waves bye-bye and gives high fives when he is in the mood

Is becoming better and better at eating finger foods. He pretty much will eat anything that we are eating and is really good at picking up little bites and feeding himself. In fact he is so good at it he piles too much in his mouth and freaks himself so he pukes often ... It's never a dull moment at the dinner table.

Loves to babble. He "talks" all of the time it is just precious.

We attend two different play groups at the moment which is really helping him become more social with other little babies. He is often shy at first but once he gets warmed up he is the life of the party.

He is really starting to understand us. He can find Mommy, Daddy, Lexi, ball, and Mickey when asked. He will give hugs and slimy kisses.

Still an outdoor baby! He loves to be outside

Throws a really good tantrum when he doesn't get his way or if we say "no" to something. I don't even want to think about how he is going to be when he turns 2 ... yikes!

As I said above he is down to one nap a day, usually between 12 and 1 and will sleep for 2.5 hours. He still wakes up once a night to eat usually between 4 am and 5 am.

Is starting to motion "up" when he wants to be picked up

He got his first boo-boo (cut his top gum with his bottom teeth) when he fell into a dresser while cursing around. He also had his first real cold with a fever and throw-up which just so happened while I was working so super dad had to think fast on his feet and take care of our little sick bear until I got home at 2am.

One of his favorite things to do is take all of his cloths out of his dresser drawers. Not only does he take out the cloths, but he shakes them to make sure they are completely unfolded leaving mommy with lots of work to do when he is done!

After Owen has been in a room we like to say "hurricane hunter" has just come and gone.
