Now that Eric has gone back to work, we treasure our weekends with him! This past weekend we were able to get out of the house for the first time since Owen came home from the hospital and Lexi had surgery. Before now, one of us always had to be home with Lexi because she needed a lot of surpervision and help around the house because of her leg. She has gotten a lot better now and can be left alone for short amounts of time locked in the living room -- which meant that Eric, Owen and I could all go for a quick little trip to the mall. Although we weren't there long (we have to be careful with flu germs around Owen which are everywhere in public places) it was nice to get out of the house!
On top of our visit out of the house, we also had some very special visitors come to see us on Sunday. Jamie, Nik and Kaileigh are visiting their families in MA for two weeks before they have to head back to Alabama. And we can't thank them enough because on Sunday they took time out of their busy schedules to come meet little Owen! He loved meeting his Auntie Jamie (who is like the baby whisperer and Owen loved cuddling with her) and Uncle Nik and we loved catching up with them. It really made me realize how much I wish they lived closer to us. We are already counting the months until they come back to MA for a visit!
