Aniversary Weekend - Saratoga Style

This weekend Eric and I spent the weekend in Saratoga / Albany and had such a great time! On Saturday we ventured up to the Saratoga Race Track and met up with a couple of Eric's really close friends to eat some over priced food, gamble on some horses and take in the gorgeous weather! I have to say, we had a really fun time just hanging out and hoping our horses would win. We would always go and check out the horses that were on their way to race at the paddock to see who was looking good. After that we would place our bets and watch the race as everyone around us would yell out the number they needed to cross the finish line first including ourselves! It is crazy how intense some people get, but I think that's what make's it so fun. On top of that, we even managed to come out on top :)!

Saturday night we walked around Saratoga and did a little shopping at their cute little stores, celebrated our Anniversary at a wonderful restaurant called Lillian's and topped off the night with make your own sundaes! I don't think the day could have gotten any better!

On Sunday we traveled back to the track to meet up with Geoff, Giselle, Lizzie and baby Noah!!! I was so excited to finally meet my little nephew and let me tell you, he sure is a little cutie!! He is such a good baby and a little cuddle bug. I think he had a great time at the track just taking everything in while his dad moved around like a kid in a candy shop -- it was very cute to see. I got to catch-up with Giselle and Lizzie which was longggggggggg overdue and much needed :). Although I wish we could have spent a little more time with them, we had to head back east to pick up Lexi and get ready for the week to start, but we are so thankful that Geoff and Giselle fit us into their very busy east coast trip and can't wait to see them again!!

On a side note: before we left the track on Sunday we made a $10 bet to win on the 8th horse (named Moonwalk Beauty) in the 10th race just to see if our Anniversary would bring us any luck -- and what would you know, when we got home to check the results, sure enough horse 8 won and I think we made a little over $25. Pretty cool if you ask me!
