Valentines Day - Preschool Edition
This year (2015) was the very first time that our Mr. Owen got to make Valentines Day cards. He didn't really understand why he was making them, but I did want him to be involved in the process so we brainstormed a little bit about what his favorite treats were. He of course LOVES skittles and ice cream. So with all the snow and bitter coldness, why not be a little different and give out ice cream tickets right? We made a visit to friendly's and bought Owen's classroom buddies some ice cream tickets. I drew some ice cream cones on card stock and had Owen decorate each one and then we attached the tickets to them. It was a good thing he only had 10 kids in his class because he was a little done with decorating them after cone #5. Oh well, we tried and I think they came out pretty cute.
For his teacher Owen and I made paper flowers in a personalized painted flower vase. His teacher loves to garden so I thought it would be sweet to give her flowers that wouldn't die. Owen painted on the paper that would be used as the flowers and painted the flower vase while I assembled them. He also made sure to pick out his favorite color -- orange -- buttons for the center of the flowers.
The morning before valentines day he brought in all of his treats and dropped them in each of his friends bags. They all did such a great job and Owen had so much fun showing me and eating all of his treats! What a fun little holiday.
And because why not, here are some pictures of us on valentine's day!
