Looking through little eyes

Parenting is full of what ifs. What if I did something wrong, what if it was done differently, what if this could traumatize him for life, what if, what if, what if. There is constant second guessing and the lingering worry if you are doing it right. You just want to reach for the instruction manual that just isn't there. And when things start to feel like you have control and can do it, you know that next obstacle is right around the corner mocking you to come and face it. But sometimes, it takes a moment of clarity to see that everything will work out and hopefully the bumps in the road you travel on while parenting, won't leave a mark or at least a scar that's too deep to heal. Sometimes, clarity can be found by looking in your child's eyes to see just how much hope, promise, determination, and happiness is found inside them because you are helping mold them into the child they are. Life isn't made to be perfect, and there are going to be plenty of hard moments and moments that you will think you have screwed up beyond repair but if you take a moment and look at life the way a child looks at it right now, it really is remarkable what you will be able to see.

You teach me something new everyday little man and that's the true gift of parenting. So yes, it's not easy and yes it is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Love you O. Thanks for giving me a different perspective on life and making it so much better ;).
