Although hurricane Sandy tried to ruin our Halloween fun, the day ended up to be one to remember. It didn't get above 55 degrees, but the sun was shining so you won't hear any complaints here. In the morning we decided to go to the library for a special Halloween concert. Owen had a great time listening to the music and even did a little dancing. A lot of the little kids got all dressed up in their costumes so it was super cute!

A little video to capture all of the kids that were there!
After the Halloween concert we went home, played a little in the backyard had lunch and Owen actually decided to nap -- a miracle within itself! Only today, my little sleeping price decided to take a really longgggg nap. At the 3 hour mark at 4 I finally went into get him so we could go do some trick-or-treating up at Cushing Square. All of the local businesses were participating in trick-or-treating so I thought it would be lots of fun... Boy was I wrong. You know the saying "NEVER wake a sleeping baby?" yes, Owen is one of these babies that if you wake from a nap you are in for one hell of a battle. He was SOOOOO grumpy and pissed that I woke him up. As a way to try to cheer him up I decided to take the bus up to the square since Owen is obsessed with buses. That earned me a little smile but as soon as we got off he was pissed and didn't want to do anything. I tried to get him to walk to the first store and he ended up tripping and banging his mouth on the cement sidewalk. Tears streamed from both of our faces ... Halloween was quickly turning into a disaster. We hit a few stores where he was very skeptical as to why we were walking into stores, taking candy and leaving and he wouldn't let me put him down but at least he wasn't crying.
Our little handyman
He was not a fan of the hat so these are the only two pictures I have with it on. This was the main challenge with finding a costume... almost 100% of costumes made for toddlers have some type of hood/hat so I had to get creative
Clearly pissed to be out in the cold ... would much rather be back in his crib
Cushing Square
Trying to make the best of our little adventure
Don't know what I would do without Kristen!
We wrapped up our adventure at the square and went met up with our good friends Kristen, Jason and their cutie Ashton to do some real trick-or-treating. Because of Sandy, Eric was being held captive at work and I am so grateful that Kristen and Jason let Owen and I tag along for the night because we had so much fun. The boys started to really get the hang of trick-or-treating and would go up to the doors, knock, take one piece of candy all by themselves and say "bye-bye" to every house we went to. It was so sweet and made Halloween so much fun. Owen toted his little pumpkin bucket to every house we went to and when we finished at one house he would point to the next house he wanted to go to. He LOVED it and so did we!
Hoping a little cupcake will improve his mood
Ashton having a heart to heart with his mom
Let's go!
Oh no where are my tools?
All ready to hit the streets
Ashton all ready to go
At the first house
They were so cute!
Trick-or-treat
When Eric finally got home we took a quick stroll around the block and hit a couple more houses to make sure he didn't miss out on the fun
Loving Halloween!
All worn out happy to be home!
Owen's candy stash
What am I going to have first?
So although the middle of the day was a little rough our little handyman and Owen's bff giraffe made the night one that we certainly will never forget!
