As the clock nears midnight, Cinderella has officially had the time of her life this weekend as she married her prince charming and they are getting ready for their honeymoon!
It all started on Friday when our wedding party gathered for our rehearsal outside at the Delaney House to practice for the big day. After we practiced, we all traveled over to the Yankee Peddler for a wonderful and special dinner thrown by Eric's parents. It was so nice to get to celebrate with everyone with some wonderful food and drinks. It was a great way to kick off the weekend.
Then the big day finally arrived. I couldn't believe it was finally here. After 19 months of planning, Eric and I were getting married! We were blessed with a perfect day. It was sunny, with some clouds to keep the squinting to a minimum and it was about 75 degrees -- we couldn't have asked for a better August day!
It's hard to write down on paper how extremely perfect the day turned into. It was truly a fairy tail wedding that even astonished my wildest dreams. The ceremony started outside the Delaney House in their beautiful garden nook on the top of a hill. A brick path guided the guests to their white garden style seats at the top of the hill. The music was cued and the mothers walked up the aisle. Then "Going to the Chapel" came on and the the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked up the aisle. Then the music stopped and my dad and I came around the corner in a horse and carriage. He lead me out and we walked up the path to "Fireflies." It was truly a moment that I will treasure forever. We made it to the top and everyone was greeted by our Reverend Brian Davies, a friend of the Hunters and ours who made the ceremony so special for both of us. He did such a wonderful job and he made our ceremony even more special then we could have ever imagined. We want to thank him and his family for making the trip our from Michigan, it meant so much to have them there. Finally the moment came and he proudly announced us as "Mr. and Mrs. Hunter" to all of our friends and family and it was time to party!
We kicked the party off at the reception in the grand ballroom at the Delaney House. The room was filled with pink and black accents and looked absolutely AMAZING. It was a room fit for a princess and prince and we couldn't have asked for a better night. The food was wonderful, but I think the best part was the dancing! Everyone hit the dance floor and danced their pants off until last call at 11:15.
Both Eric and I had the best day of our life and had lots of fun talking about it all day today. But the day would not have happened without all of the help from my mom and dad and everything that they did to give me a day to become Cinderella. The day was truly a day out of the Cinderella story books and I am so lucky to have such good friends and family members to make it such a special day. We would both like to thank our whole wedding party for EVERYTHING that they did. Thank you to the Mr. and Mrs Hunter as well as Jamie, Mary, Kara, Katie, Lianne, Molly, Lizzie, Alyssa, Geoff, Eric, Sean, Dan, Danny and Ricky for making our day one we will NEVER FORGET and cherish forever.
Since neither Eric or I had a camera yesterday, we don't have any pictures, but people are posting pictures on Facebook so hopefully when we get back from our honeymoon, next Monday we will be able to post a fun little album. Thanks again to everyone that came out to celebrate with us! We love you all!
Have a fabulous time in St. Thomas! xoxo mom
