Alabama

Last Saturday I was able to travel down to Alabama to visit Jamie, Nik and Kaileigh for 4 days and I had such a great time. I was able to see a part of the US that I had never seen, experience the difficulties of understanding people with a thick southern accent and enjoying the hot summer sun, since New England has decided to keep it hidden from us. On top of that, I was able to spend time with the Savva's and see their very adorable house, the life of suburbia and of course I got to get to know the little cutie they call Kaileigh a little bit better!

Over the four days, Jamie, Nik and Kaileigh took me out and about to the various attractions in Mobile -- which by the way is HUGE! The first stop we made was to the local theater to see Harry Potter!! I was soo sooo soooo very excited to see this movie and Jamie was nice enough to wait until I got there so we could see it together. Nik even bought us tickets ahead of time to make sure we got in to see it, he is such a sweetie :). The movie was very well done, a little different from the book, but it was pretty funny for such a dark book and they did a really good job fitting in a storyline that was 650+ pages long into a 2 and 1/2 hour movie -- over all it was a great movie spent with a very wonderful friend.

Over the following days we spent the time going to my first outside mall, taking walks around their very cute neighborhood, going shopping in town, enjoying Jamie's home made cooking (she is really turning into a great cook) and best of all playing with baby Kaileigh, who by the way is getting so big! She is smiling all of the time and LOVES to bounce and move her legs. She is so active already, I can only imagine what she is going to get into when she is crawling and walking! She is going to keep her parents very busy. Besides the understandable fussiness of teething, she is such a wonderful baby and very fun to hang out with. You can tell that she is loved by her parents, family and friends -- she is one lucky kid!

Eric and I are excited to see them again when they make the trip up to Western Mass for a couple of weeks! Thank You Savva's for such a great relaxing mini vacation! Love you!
