Recently, I have had a little extra time on my hands and I have found myself reading a lot of different blogs about people I have never met and I have been having a great time. Many of the blogs that I have found are so advanced, I wish I knew how to add some of their elements to my blog. For example their headers are personalized, they include many links to other websites/blogs in each of their blog posts, and they all use code names for themselves and their families. It's like they are part of this secrete blog society or something.
Needless to say, I have a great time reading their blogs and how connected they have become with complete strangers that are sprinkled throughout the US. It really makes you think about how advanced we have become and how easy it is to make new friends that could be thousands of miles away but they are always their for you. They can read your worries, laugh at your funny stories, dish out advice when it is asked for ... and it is all because of the different blogs that each of them started ... it is pretty cool if you ask me.
Some of the blogs that I like to follow are:
Brian, Beth and Kate Davies
The Savva Family
The Libutti Family
Hairyshoefairy
Random Thoughts
Ready for My Close Up Mr.Demille
Each of these blogs are unique in their own little way but I like to follow them because they focus on their kids ... and when you focus on kids you know there is bound to be some pretty funny stories to brighten up anyone's day. Even though I cannot relate to any of these blogs, I do find them insightful and they do give you a little peek on what it is like to have a family, have your first child, cope with the challenge of having another child, the first child rebelling because now their is a new baby stealing their spotlight ... and to a two or three year old, that is just a hard concept to swallow.
So maybe someday when my blog doesn't solely focus on my puppy, I will get to be in a network like these ladies have created. But until then the followers of this blog will have to put up with lots of wedding details, all sorts of crazy puppy adventures with Lexi and all of the adventures that Eric and I have ahead of us :)
Wahoo! I just found you linking to me! (Cool!)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, blogging has saved my sanity (and constituted a large portion of my social life and support network in the midst of "mom" life) so I'm a BIG fan. If you want pointers on any blogging specifics (that I appear to have figured out anyway) just shoot me a comment or an email. Cheers! And good luck with the fun stuff ahead of you!
