Record Breaking Snow

Incase you didn't hear, this winter we were bombarded with snow. Every week we had a major snow storm. At first it was so much fun. The fresh white snow blanketed the streets. The icicles sparked in the daytime sun while we joyfully built a snowman and went sledding down our street. Owen was in absolute heaven playing in all of the snow, making snowballs and was such a great helper when it came to shoveling. Poor Addie couldn't really move much in all of her snow gear so we didn't spend too much time outside but we did get her out a lot.

First time out on his sled this winter!

I buried him and he loved it :)

This was after our "first" big storm of the winter ... and we thought we had a lot of snow then HA

Always busy this one :)
My slow loving big helper hard at work!

But then the snow didn't stop and it was bitterly cold. We had so much snow it covered our front windows -- talk about living in an igloo. The snow banks were crazy high, the streets were super skinny to drive down and the sidewalks -- well those disappeared after the 4th huge storm. The park was buried. When looking at the playground the swings were completely covered, it was crazy. We had so much snow it wasn't even safe to play outside, add in the fact that it was bitterly cold all winter (if we hit 20 degrees it was like a heat wave) and well, it made for one very long winter with two little kids and a doggie that loves to be outside. With over 100 feet of snow that fell in one season (yes 100 FEET), it was defiantly a challenge (our snowblower that was such an AMAZING lifesaver... I know we wouldn't have survived without it. Thanks Dad and Mom!) and we couldn't wait for warm weather to come. Luckily for us, it did -- thank goodness and mother nature if you are reading this, we got our quota for snow for the next 10 years, feel free to go easy on us this year ;).

This is our front window... we were completely buried in

Eric on top of our snowbank. The top of his head is our landlords windows -- they live on the second floor
The kids playhouse after one of the storms... poor house didn't see daylight until April
The icicles were crazy once everything started melting... it made for some very pretty views
