It took 6 weeks, but we did it, Owen, Addie, Lexi and I survived a very successful last minute road trip to Westfield. Before Adelyn was born, one of my friends husbands reached out to our group of friends to let us know that he was planning on having a surprise birthday dinner for his wife Katie (who was one of my bridesmaids) when they were home from Portland for a couple of weeks in May. Plans got confirmed and everyone was meeting up in Springfield on a Thursday night. Now don't get me wrong, my schedule is wide open, but since the dinner was on a Thursday back in Western Mass, I knew that Eric wouldn't be able to go so I would be on my own. That morning Owen woke up happy I asked him if he wanted to go see Grammie, he was excited so I packed up the kids, jumped in the car and made the trip to my parents house. That night Owen got some special time with Grammie, Papa and Uncle Ricky which I think helped him and made him feel special and Addie and I went off to the surprise birthday dinner --- and let me tell you, I am so glad that I went. It was wonderful to see my girl friends that mean so much to me, have them meet Addie, have some fun girl talk and enjoy a nice dinner out. I think Addie liked the outing too, as she got so many snuggles from all of her Aunties that love her so much all ready.

The next day, my mom took the day off, which we all loved, and we picked up my grammie and headed over to the Westfield Children's Museum. It very cute and had an awesome exhibit where you got to shot balls out of a air powered gun -- talk about a little boys dream come true. We all had a blast!

Can't beat the sweetness
It was so nice to have a change of scenery and extra help during our short visit. Owen had a blast, Addie got lots of snuggles, Lexi romped around outside and caused trouble with Kenzie and I had some adult conversations and time to relax. Overall it was a very successful trip!
