Saying Goodbye is Never Easy

Last week was a sad week for Owen, Ashton and I. For the past year and a half, every week we would meet up with one of my closets mom friends - Nancy - and her three kids. Her oldest is Gisella and is about 2 months older then Owen. Her middle son is Elias and he is about 6 months younger then Ashton and her littlest - Avrum - just turned 8 months old. The kids have always gotten along great and she has really been someone that I have leaned on and relied on to keep me sane. Owen and Gisella are best friends and the way they play together would make anyones heart melt.

Anyway, they recently got an opportunity to move back home to Minnesota where Nancy's whole family is from and lives and it would have been silly of them to pass it up, but that's not to say that I was happy about it at all. So we met up on Wednesday for our last get together and it was so very sad. I am not sure what I am going to do without our weekly meet ups and poor Owen has lost one of his three best friends, leaving only Ashton in the area (Noah is one of his bff's, but lives in DC). Nancy has been someone that I have always looked up to and strive to be like as a mother. She is a wonderful friend and with baby #2 coming, I really wish she was staying around the area. I am really sad to be losing the 10 minute commute to her house, which is now turning into a plane ride, but that won't stop me from seeing her again. She is a true diamond as a friend and I will treasure all of the time that I have gotten to spend with her and all of the time Owen has gotten to play with Gisella and the boys.
