Rochester Visit

Wow I am so behind. Please forgive the lack of blogging, and if anyone still reads this, I promise I will be better. I have recently found a love for reading -- I know that's a big shocker for those that know me well -- and lets just say every moment that I have a break from toddlerville, I sink into my fantasy book land. I do have some good posts coming up on the blog so please come and visit often and I promise to be better about posting.

Ok, now that we have that out of the way, how about we visit Chirstmas all over again? Christmas was a very crazy and busy time for us. I guess you could say it was like a vacation as we spent about 6 days in Rochester and 4 days in Westfield visiting family and letting Owen have some special time with his grandparents.

Our first leg of our trip brought us to Rochester. One of our first activities that we thought would be fun to do was to take Owen to see Santa. If you can remember last year, Owen was not a fan of the man in the red suit, in fact we tried three times to get him to like him, but he cried every time. This year I thought for sure it would be different. I showed Owen pictures of Santa, told him how nice he was and he seemed to embrace him and smile when we talked about him. He was even excited to meet him. But once it was our turn to meet him at the mall and Owen sat on his lap he just cried and reached for me. No fridge worthy picture was taken and another year that Owen cried on Santa's lap. Oh well we will try again next year. Owen did however have a fun time walking around the mall after meeting Santa.

We took a ride on the indoor carousel
He liked it at first, but after a quick 30 secs, this is what he looked like the rest of the time...
 Happy to be walking around

We also had lots of fun visiting Grams and Pops at their work and went on a little adventure to a vineyard with Auntie Lizzie. And while we were in Rochester we got our first real snow storm and Owen helped Pops and his Daddy shovel. But most of all we had fun just hanging out and playing.

While we were out in Rochester we also celebrated Owen's birthday. We had some yummy homemade cake, we took Owen out for a special treat to McDonalds for a happy meal and opened a couple of presents. That night we headed over to the Lambrix's annual sing-a-long and Owen was a dancing machine. It was a very fun day.
